As St. Teresa of Avila puts it, prayer is being on terms of friendship with God. There are many different ways to pray and there is not one "right way." Different forms of prayer help us connect with God by engaging the heart, mind, body and spirit in a variety of ways. Some connect with God best by praying out loud as if talking to a friend, or through journaling their prayers. Some pray best with written prayers they can meditate on. Maybe meeting God in the stories of Scripture speaks to you best. Some prefer to connect with God through music. The most important thing about prayer, no matter how we pray, is simply to show up and to tell God: "Here I am, Lord, I am listening."
family prayerGod made us a family.
We need one another, we love one another, we forgive one another. We work together, we play together, we pray together. Together we listen to God's Word, together we grow in Christ, Together we serve our God, together we pray for Heaven. These are our hopes, this is our faith. Help us to obtain them O God, Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. |

all are welcome! Many of our social and family gatherings happen around a table. We naturally consider it one of the best ways to grow in community and fellowship with one another. Similarly, one of the best ways to grow as a family of faith is to gather around the Lord's table. Hearing from the Word of God and receiving the Lord in the Eucharist builds our faith and gives us a firm foundation on which to build our daily lives!
All are welcome to join us for Mass on Sunday at St. Bartholomew's at 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am and 12:00pm. Check our website or call the rectory to sign up!
